Dinara played some excellent tennis and got the better of the top seed after a scare in the first set which she eventually won 7/5. She then won the second set 6/4 as her opponent made every effort to come back but failed in the face of a superior display.
The win by Dinara made her fall into the class of another Sri Lankan to win in the event Angelika Kurera who had won two titles in 2019.
